Last week, Argentina-based artist, Jaz, aka Franco Fasoli, held his first European solo show at Ras Gallery in Barcelona, Spain.  The artist filled the space with 26 pieces of work, many created solely with tar as the medium and a large mural of two facing animals with the Sagittarius constellation overlapping.  Unlike many street artists, Jaz’s work trasitions well in a gallery environment and has very natural look.

New Triangulo Dorado Mural

Buenos Aires-based mural collective, Triangulo Dorado, has finished this newest mural with a water-based theme.  People are depicted neck high in water with birds on their heads and a small house lies a rocky island with a beautifully colored skyline in the background.

Last week we told you about the Snow White and the Huntsman pop-up gallery that opened its doors on May 19. Those who have already been down to 7710 Melrose Avenue in L.A. have seen the work of a number of hugely talented artists, including 3-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood. The gallery centerpiece, however, is a mural from legendary graffiti artist MEAR ONE.

Flying Fortress x Nychos

This cute cuddly bear wearing a ripped jean jacket and a helmet was dissected in a combined effort from street artists, Nychos and Flying Fortress.  Appropriately titled “No Guts No Glory”, this new mural was painted in Dublin, Ireland for the  “All City Tivoli Jam”.

Sam3 just wrapped up this massive mural while in Amposta, Spain for the Fahr Festival. The artist’s simplistic imagery using just black and blue, works beautifully on this building.

New York Public Artist arrested for "planting false bombs"

A Brooklyn-Based artist who had installed a series of illuminated “I Love New York” bags to lampposts in Brooklyn was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with planting false bombs, along with several other charges.  Takeshi Miyakawa, a visual artist and furniture designer, was placing the bags as a public project to show his love for the city and to lift people’s spirits.

Hyuro in Cholula, Mexico

This encircled collection of folding chairs was painted in Cholula, Mexico, by Spanish artist, Hyuro.  There is something eerie and dark about this particular wall, maybe it’s the absence of people?

JR mural on the High Line in New York

Working on his continuous Inside Out Project wheatpaste photographer, JR, over the weekend acquired some prime real estate on the High Line in New York City.  A popular tourist attraction, the High Line was once an abandoned section of the New York Central Railroad that was recycled into an urban park spawning huge real estate development in the area.
