Juxtapoz friend and Birmingham, UK-based fine artist Lucy McLauchlan will be opening a new exhibition, Holding onto Fragments of Past Memories, at Triumph Gallery in Moscow, Russia on March 22, 2013. And if you can't make it to Russia, Lucy just released 4 new prints via The Outsiders in the UK. Which, depending on your location, could be a lot farther and/or closer. You get that Google Map program out and get yourself sorted. 

Jaroslava Klepikova is an artist and illustrator out of Moscow, Russia with the patience and dedication to create intricately rendered, fluid and futuristic erotica out of graphite pencils. Apart from occasionally coloring them in Photoshop, they are usually left in gray scale, adding to their mysterious, dreamlike quality.

Julia Petrova is an illustrator who lives in Moscow, Russia. She uses several methods for creating her works on paper or in her moleskin including pen, watercolor and collage. She creates illustrated portraits and landscapes, sometimes adding an element of surrealism to her creations. In this series, artist Anton Marrast has created four illustrations based on the short stories of Gabriel García Márquez. Surreal and sensual, Marrast's vignettes capture the magic of Márquez's prose while also standing as digital artworks that are striking unto themselves. Marrast hails from Moscow, Russia.

David Waters is a talented digital artist from Moscow. His portfolio covers a wide range of styles and mediums, ranging from dark illustrations, to beautiful photo manipulations and typographic sketches. His work is rich as he combines his skill across a breadth of mediums into most of his works, giving a mixed media feel to many of his designs.

"I can sense the presence of enclosed spaces within my psyche. A hidden collection of obscure moods & thoughts that I can't quite comprehend. In attempt to better comprehend some of it, I've developed this series. It is a stroll of curiosity in search of something insightful, somewhere within the hidden valleys of my psyche."

Tattoo artist Den Yakovlev really has a handle on creating some of the most realistic portraits and perspective work I've seen in some time. He is a master at both color and gray-scale tattoos and specializes in creating inked portraits that are so lifelike they almost feel like visual illusions. One thing we have learned (of many) as we have been traveliing through Sri Lanka this past week is how ugly and eye-soring a power line can be in lush, beautiful environments. That is why we love the Deer shaped hydro tower concept designed by Moscow-based Design Depot.

Last year, Russian-based conceptual artist Dimitri Tsykalov scored two major hits on our stie: Meat Guns and Fruit Skulls, respectively. The artist is back with a series of knit credit cards, photographed and presented to be nearly complete with unraveling parts falling to the ground.
