MOMO has been one of our favorite muralists in recent years, and we love the abstraction he has brought into the gallery and out onto walls. He just opened a new body of work, "There Are No Wheels in Nature," at Winterlong Galerie in Niort, France. Momo in Tulum, Mexico

How can we not get jealous of Momo when looking at this picture of his new mural in Tulum, Mexico and we can see snow from our window? Momo is currently enjoying the white sand beaches, a warm sun, pastor tacos and an artist residency called “Residencia Gorila.” This little tropical oasis just got that much better with the help of this beautiful new piece.

MOMO "Butt Joints" @ May Gallery, New Orleans

In the August issue, we featured the fantastic abstract mural works of MOMO, and have long been fans of the NYC and New Orleans based artist. He just opened a solo show at May Gallery in New Orleans, and from what we have read, May is a " araw bunker-like space by the St Claude Rail Yard, perfect for oversized installations." And just so you don't start laughing, "Butt Joints describes the method of marrying plywood together that will help us build something large yet simple within May’s space..."

MOMO in St. Louis with Re+Public

Momo who was featured in our August printed issue is currently in St. Louis working with Re+Public on what the artists says is “ anaugmented reality mural, which will be the first of it’s kind.” The mural will debut during the Dancing in the Streets event on September 21, 2013. "Made in Oaxaca" @ Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Oaxaca, Mexico

  This past Friday in Oaxaca, Mexico, the exhibition  "Made in Oaxaca" at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Oaxaca opened, featuring a line-up of international street and mural artists. Curated by Pedro Alonzo, the display showed twelve site-specific works from twelve different artists, from Saner, MOMO, Retna, Nunca, Dr Lakra and others.

Originally from San Francisco, now based in Brooklyn, Momo, is constantly traveling domestically and internationally to add his minimalist art to cities landscapes.  His most recent endeavor was in Chicago, where he team up with Pawn Works Gallery to paint a simple designed mural.

MOMO & Piet Dieleman Video

Multi disciplinary artists, Momo and Piet Dieleman, collaborated in painting a public mural where the two would go over each other’s work for a week.  The project took place at the independent culture festival “Incubate” in Holland and you can see part of the process in the following video.
