Have you ever had the sensation, while sleeping, that someone is staring at you? And then you wake up and its your significant other/cat/child just peeing at your eyeballs while you are just trying to get some comofortable shut-eye? Yeah, its psychotic. But apparently for Tilda Swinton, who has made a name for herself for being an oddball in a sea of people trying to be oddballs (meaning she is a better oddball then say, Anne Hathaway), she doesn't mind sleeping in front of learing eyes. She is sleeping in front of people at MoMA in a special, randomly timed, performance piece...

Here is a glimpse into Francis Alÿs' video "Tornado" where the video artist travels a region in the Mexican countryside where tornados frequently occur and attempts to run into the eye of the storm. Alÿs is Belgian-born and currently lives and works in Mexico City.

You know where we stand on this issue, as we have been bringing video games and the architects behind them into the magazine in recent years, so we applaud the move by the MoMA Architecture and Design curators acquiring 14 video game titles, with more to come. The first grouping will be on display Museum’s Philip Johnson Galleries in March 2013.

Next Monday, January 9 at 7pm, NYC's Museum of Modern Art will be hosting An Evening with Ron English, that includes a screening of Pedro Carvajal’s 2005 documentary feature Popaganda: The Art and Crimes of Ron English, and a sampling of English’s recent moving image works, including the “Detroit project” from his ongoing video-posting series.

Willem de Kooning was one of the great abstract painters of the twentieth century. The MoMA in New York currently has an all encompassing retrospective of his work from its very early stages through to the end of his career with the exhibition taking up the entire sixth floor.

This is over a month away, but we wanted to get everyone to mark the calendars early: Printed Matter presents the sixth annual NY Art Book Fair, opening September 30 at MoMA PS1. Exhibitors include international presses, booksellers, antiquarian dealers, artists and independent publishers from more than twenty countries.

This has been a long-awaited show at the Museum of Modern Art, Talk to Me: Design and the Communication Between People and Objects. Talk to Me explores the communication between people and things, focusing on objects that involve a direct interaction, such as interfaces, information systems, visualization design, and communication devices, and on projects that establish an emotional, sensual, or intellectual connection with their users.

This past winter, David Choe's documentary, aka, Dirty Hands: The Art and Crimes of David Choe, closed out our film festival with MoMA, All the Wrong Art: Juxtapoz Magazine on Film. Now Upper Playground is releasing both a deluxe DVD of the film, and live streaming on their site.

After the hugely successful Tim Burton retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, the exhibition is moving to Los Angeles and the LACMA in what we assume will again be a massively attended showcase of Burton's drawings, live-action and animated films, photographs, and illustrations.
