We don't know where you live, but here in the Northern portions of California, it feels a lot like summer at the moment. That has put us in a certain mood where watching the Mollusk Surf Shop produced short film, "Knost Split" by Jack Coleman just seems like a good way to relax and feel the lazy summer days ahead.

Throughout the year we see a lot of products move through the Juxtapoz office, and we decided to pick a few of our favorites and put together a gift guide for your Holiday shopping plans. Let's face it, creative people are hard to shop for, we're picky, right? Hopefully this will help you find that special something for the creative in your life...

It feels like we have been following the work of Alex Kopps for years, but finally, in our new November 2013 issue, we have an exclusive interview with the ... well, elusive artist. Kopps has done a bunch of work in and with Mollusk Surf Shop, a ton of surf art, a ton of fine art, video, photography, and other forms of documentation... and we just get our own creative juices flowing when we see his work. Get the issue, and perhaps look at Kopps' eclectic work.

We can't wait for this. Mollusk Surf Shop is taking their fantastic aesthetic down to Big Sur for a Big Sur Jamboree, a weekend of music, art, camping, probably a campfire, and a renewed sense that you need to read more. This Friday, November 9, Thomas Campbell will be having both a signing/release and exhibition surrounding his new surf photography book, Slide Your Brains Out, at Mollusk Surf Shop in San Francisco. Tommy Guerrero and Ray Barbee will be playing live, the book looks amazing as it features Campbell's surf shots from 1997—2012, and Mollusk is an SF staple. Go.

This past March, we checked out the solo show of one Nat Russell at Mollusk Surf Shop in San Francisco, sans camera. That was not smart. Now on the eve of Russell's showing at Ed. Varie in NYC, we wanted to showcase some of the works of the Indianapolis-based artist. With wit and abstract graphic elements, his new show will feature large scale paintings, watercolor, and silk-screen works on paper, a multi-dimensional installation, and fine art lithography prints.

Mollusk's Venice surfshop location threw a limtied edition kick-off party for the Hurley Rick Griffin collection, complete with—what do you expect?—free drinks, tacos, and soundtrack by legendary surf rockers Denny Aaberg and the Cheater 5. Photos of the festivities after the jump. Stop by Mollusk (online or in SF and Venice) to grab Rick Griffin threads.

We were recently introduced to Augustus Thompson's work while looking at magazines at the fantastic San Francisco surf store and art gallery, Mollusk. Thompson's faces have a life to them, a poetic style that harkens back to some of the classic eras of San Francisco art and literature. More images after the jump . . .
