"Art Truancy: Celebrating 20 Years of Juxtapoz Magazine" @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery—The Art

Juxtapoz // Monday, May 19, 2014
And finally, the art. We are so proud of all the artwork that is on exhibit in "Art Truancy: Celebrating 20 Years of Juxtapoz Magazine," open at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC through June 14, 2014. It blows our mind that we are now two decades old, but what is even more amazing are all the artists that have been in our pages over those years. Their works tell the story, create the chance to document alternative art narratives, bring out the fans, bring out the collectors, and keep the creative energy of Juxtapoz alive. Here, then, is all the art in "Art Truancy."

Miss Van “ROOM FOR CREAM” @ Soze Gallery, Los Angeles

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 25, 2013
Miss Van is one of our favorite painters, with an elegance and command that we are always impressed with and makes for a really strong impression when seen in person. The French-born, Barcelona-based artist just opened a solo show, Room For Cream, at Soze Gallery in Los Angeles, featuring new paintings and a stunning collaborative mural outside the gallery, done with Ciro Schu (Mr Schu also has a series of paintings up at Soze's sister gallery, Time to Shine).

Preview: September issue featuring Daniel Clowes, London Police, and David Shrigley

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, August 01, 2012
A busy summer it has been all around in the art world, but in our home base of the San Francisco Bay Area, we have had two significant museum retrospectives that have made their way into the September 2012 issue of Juxtapoz. First off, we celebrate our cover story, Daniel Clowes, and his fantastic exhibition at the Oakland Museum of California, Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes. Over the years, the iconic comic book artist has given us cult-followed works such as Ghost World, Eightball, Wilson, and numerous covers for The New Yorker.
