One of our favorite shows we saw in San Francisco this past month was Michelle Blade's work, "Gathering Into Being" at CULT Exhibitions. We probably should have told you about it when it was on, because it came down on June 7th. So now all you can do is look at the nice paintings and works on paper. As the gallery notes, the work shapes "an ethereal world, charged with symbolism, where abstract and figurative forms suggest relationships between the material and the immaterial."

“Shifter” is the inaugural group show exhibition for Alter Space opening tonight March 22, 2012, 6-10 p.m. in San Francisco. The show will feature a variety of mediums exploring actions of restless transformation. As the gallery states, “These artists engage in movement and transformation in unique and compelling ways through works on fabric, kinetic drawings in iron, sound performance, electrostatics, painting, prints and animation.”
