We had heard this film was in production, but forgot about it until yesterday when we saw a new trailer for Michel Gondry's "Mood Indigo." Looks like the French filmmaker is back to creating the more whimisical, creative, and surreal fantasy worlds of some of his best films (Eternal Sunshine, Science of Sleep). Remember when we did a photoshoot with our Petit Gondry a few years back to coincide with our interview with Grand Gondry? That was fun. Now watch the trailer... 

  In this video directed by Tiffany Limos, Academy Award-winning French director Michel Gondry shows us around his favorite local video store in Paris: La Butte Video Club. Now living in Brooklyn, Gondry laments the absence of video stores these days and reminisces about watching VHS tapes and making videos with his friends.  

In exactly 2:42, innovative filmmaker Michel Gondry makes up for The Green Hornet. Mr. Gondry, featured in our January 2011 issue, recreates the infamous Robert De NIro starring film, Taxi Driver, in Gondry's signature, playful style. He's back. 

In our new August 2011 issue, we feature the work of photographer Autumn de Wilde, famous for her photos with Elliott Smith, on the set of Black Swan with Rodarte, and with Los Angeles' Beck. The latter work will be featured in a book published by Chronicle Books this fall, titled simply Beck by Autumn de Wilde. 

We had a little fun with Michel Gondry earlier this year with our interview with the director and Petit Gondry photoshoot. Today, we just saw that Mr. Gondry directed this fantastic new video for Björk and the track "Crystalline," that will appear on the Icelandic artist's newest album, Biophilia, that will be released on September 26.

Los Angeles-based artists Rob Abeyta, Jr (Juxtapoz n73) and Patrick Martinez (Juxtapoz n118) both open respective solo shows at Known Gallery in Los Angeles this weekend, Saturday, March 19th. Abeyta's All Necessary Means and Martinez' Hustlemania both feature new works from the artists. More after the jump . . .

We haven't spoke about Michel Gondry since our feature with the "The Green Hornet" director in our January 2011 issue, but we just saw that he directed a music video for Los Angeles-based trio, The Living Sisters. The video for "How Are You Doing?" features some trademark Gondry dreamlike sequences, including some airplance turbulence, laughter, and a house burning down. Watch after the jump . . .

Rarely are we able to look into the creative process of one of the leading and experimental mainstream filmmakers like Michel Gondry. We were extremely lucky to have our contributing editor, Joey Garfield, speak with Gondry for an exclusive interview in this month's Juxtapoz. In the spirit of the creatvie energy and "handmade" element to Gondry's films and videos, we had our own creative project with our Gondry lookalike, Le Petit Gondry, as we explored the career of the famed French filmmaker through the eyes of our own little actor.
