Michael Peck, who has been profiled in the magazine in the past, just sent us a stunning preview video in conjunction with his new body of work and exhibition, Love & Fear, premiering at Metro Gallery in Melbourne this November 16, 2013. The video was shot during Peck's 3 month artist in residency earlier this year at Birrarung House in Melbourne’s fringe bush land, and, in being there, Peck was "inspired by the isolation of the surrounding landscape... reimagin(ing) the human experience within a familiar yet somewhat inexplicable environment."

We have had a great time covering the works of Michael Peck this year both in print and web, and the Victoria, Australia-based artist just released two prints (in two sizes) of the paintings Spitfire and Fighter Pilot #1. Each image has been released in a large format and small format sizing. Check after the jump for details.

Based in Victoria, Australia, artist Michael Peck's oil paintings explore the sensation of disorientation and dislocation that is often felt in the post-modern world, particularly the loss of cultural identity. The scenes in Peck's paintings are quiet, and the participants pause as they stand, withdrawn, juxtaposed against a dynamic population with the uncertainty of belonging.

Yesterday, we showed you a collection of oil paintings by Australian painter Michael Peck, and last night, Metro Gallery (who hosted Peck's last solo show, The Landing, this past Nov-Dec 2011) sent us images of Peck's opening as well as a fantastic documentary, Within the Layers, that documents Peck's latest body of work.

You can get lost in a great realist painting, and Michael Peck's new series of oil on line works, exhibited recently at Metro Gallery in Armadale, Australia, are some of the best we have seen this year. Taking the subject of World War II and adding a contemporary feel and children to the scenes, Peck's work is based on isolation and displacement.
