FriendsWithYou: "Cloudy"

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 25, 2012
We saw this last week, and forgot to mention it here on the site! Miami-based artists, Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, aka FriendsWithYou, just created this short animatio, Cloudy, featuring their signature style and minimal character design with a playful, soulful piece. Or as FWY say, "a sweet, visual soundscape that takes the viewer through a personal journey into the sky. Sing, dance and relax as you follow a cast of clouds and raindrops through an entrancing adventure you'll wish to take over and over again."

The Art of Ted Vasin

Juxtapoz // Friday, March 16, 2012
San Francisco's Ted Vasin, the Russian-born artist known for his meticulously drawn, dark psychedelic works, heads back to Miami April 14 with his Poison Bliss exhibition at 101/Exhibit Gallery—a just-completed collection he began in 2009. Realistic while beautifully unsettling, Vasin’s work evokes the isolation of a dark, drug-induced hallucination among frequently paired drawings of detailed environments with complimentary hues and metallic paints.

Juxtapoz // Friday, January 20, 2012
Miami's 101/Exhibit currently hosts Undertow, new works by Jason Shawn Alexander, the Los Angeles-based expressionist figurative painter. The show coincides with the publication of same-titled book, Undertow.

Ice Cream Girls

Erotica // Saturday, January 07, 2012
Miami, Florida is a very special place. Don't get me wrong, its an amazing sun-tanned, daisy-duked, rollerblade party nearly 365 days a year and I love it. If it wasn't for cities like Miami, things like the sweet and sexual painted Ice Cream Girls wouldn't exist. So, God Bless Miami, America. x
