Not sure if you remember dear reader, but back in August 2014, we did a very special issue that we dubbed the "Alter Ego" issue, featuring a cover story on musician Madlib with cover illustration by SF's own Jason Jägel. So, we highly endorse you going to check out the special one-day only day show of paintings and prints by Jason Jagel at the Rappcats space about Madlib's collaborator, DOOM. There will be prints for sale, 40 “Extra Doom” hand-embellished Hoecakes prints, and back stock of MF DOOM Operation Doomsday lunch boxes (out of print), and two new tees.

MF Doom is all over the creative map at the moment, and not all of it has to do with music. First, he designed his own signature pair of Clarks Originals Wallabees. Then, he released his own custom rings designed by Han Cholo for Nature Sounds. And, after he had ESPO direct the music video for the JJ Doom track, "Bookhead," it looks like ESPO contributed some graphics to a limited edition Bookhead EP picture disc. We want everything we just mentioned... 

"Grateful Doom Heads" @ Hoodlab Gallery, SF

In conjunction with the grand opening of the HoodLAB SF Art Gallery and HoodLamb Concept Store, HoodLAB will be celebrating with the opening of “Grateful Doom Heads” on NOV 2nd art pieces with be showcased from all over the US, featuring over 20 artists displaying their work inspired by Hip Hop artist MF Doom. The gallery showing will be held from 6-10pm at 1669 Haight Street in San Francisco with a VIP after party held at a nearby location.

Two of our favorite things, all in one visual. Steve "ESPO" Powers directing MF DOOM's new project, JJ DOOM. The 2x Juxtapoz cover artist teamed up with the now London-residing DOOM and his newest collaboration with Jneiro Jarel to give a video of the track "Bookhead." The video depicts our Saturday nights: corner liquor store, then reading a bit of Chaucer at the local library. Listening to DOOM. They read our mind...
