We just got a message from our good friend, and former cover artist, Greg "Craola" Simkins about his new show, Stop Haunting Me, that opens this Saturday, April 6 at Merry Karnowsky in LA. The show will feature a series of new paintings and never-before-seen prints. As Craola told us, " As I painted my pieces for this exhibit, two themes kept reoccurring to me. My twentieth year anniversary of writing graffiti under the name 'Craola"', which I began in 1993, was approaching. It is unbelievable that it is 2013 already. I blinked and 20 years flew by."

Yes, it was a quick month (no Leap Year here), and we are here again to announce another new issue of Juxtapoz. In our April 2013 issue, we are proud to feature legendary fine artist Ralph Steadman and his longtime collaborations with friend Hunter S. Thompson. With contributions from former Rolling Stone editor, Ben Fong-Torres, X-Files creator Chris Carter, and Jux writer Nathan Spoor, we are proud to help usher in a year of celebrating one of the most iconic artists of our times, Mr Ralph Steadman.

With this evocative collection of works Helnwein presents us with a bizarre Film Noir inspired world of midnight creeping, invisible pain and loss of love. Photos and more after the jump….

Merry Karnowsky Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition by Nicola Verlato entitled Zero Gravity. Painting in the hyper-realistic style he has become known for, Verlato exercises his virtuosic hand and classical eye to produce masterworks of choreographed chaos. This past weekend we stopped by the opening...

The other morning we showed you a preview of Nicola Verlato's Zero Gravity work at Merry Karnowsky opening on August 11, and Vonn Sumner will be opening striking new works on the same night at MK's space in LA. Sumner’s characters are isolated, absurd, engaging, and somehow quietly common-place.

We are bad at keeping secrets, so let's just say that we have something cooking in the magazine with Nicola Verlato. And in the meantime, we have this preview, and think you should check out, Verlato's new solo show, Zero Gravity, opening at Los Angeles' Merry Karnowsky Gallery this Saturday, August 11.
