The influential and brilliant artist, Keith Haring painted the following mural in 1984 at Collingwood Technical College in Melbourne, Australia. Over the last 27 years since, Haring's wall has naturally deteriorated and is in need of restoration. There is now a site dedicated to raising awareness and money to make sure the mural is saved.

D*Face continues a busy year with an exhibition (and extensive outdoor campaign) in Melbourne for Metro Gallery. You may know Mr D*Face's work because of its pop nature, and bright coloring and unique street works, including his cememt spray cans. And it seems in Melbourne, the concrete spraycans bring out cheerleaders.

After we wrote about Melbourne's Jeremy Geddes newest painitng on Facebook yesterday, we couldn't believe we hadn't shown a selection of his work on the site before. Profiled in the magazine, and soon to be featured, Geddes' work is a practice in the hyperreal / surreal, with incredible detail and photo-like realism.

It took us a while to understand what is going on here; At an auction at the Deutscher and Hackett house in Melbourne, Australia, a bidder decided they were willing to spend $21,350 Australian dollars for $20,000 Australian dollars, a $1,350 Australian (or roughly US$1,900) surplus over the actual value of the money.

That is a mouthful. This project, MÖBIUS, by Melbourne, Australia-based design and public art installation firm ENESS, seems simple enough: a lot of effects done on a computer to make the effect of objects moving in and around a city center. But this is one painstaking, deliberate, detailed piece of stop motion, public art.

We went by LUSH's exhibition at FIFTY24SF Gallery last night to shoot a few preview photos, and the Melbourne artist told us that he felt more comfortable picking a few out from his stash. So, we got nudity, because LUSH built a peep show, complete with stripper pole in the gallery for LUSH Sells His Soul in SF.
