The Art of Jeremy Geddes

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, October 19, 2011
After we wrote about Melbourne's Jeremy Geddes newest painitng on Facebook yesterday, we couldn't believe we hadn't shown a selection of his work on the site before. Profiled in the magazine, and soon to be featured, Geddes' work is a practice in the hyperreal / surreal, with incredible detail and photo-like realism.

In Erotica: Melbourne-based JKB Fletcher

Juxtapoz // Sunday, August 21, 2011
"More of my paintings have flesh in them than any other subject matter," says Melbourne-based artist JKB Fletcher. "They are sensual, ambiguous, and personal... a way to get closer and more intimate with my painting, finding sensuality, beauty and intimacy within the human physique."

Mobius: Stop-Motion Installation

Juxtapoz // Saturday, August 13, 2011
That is a mouthful. This project, MÖBIUS, by Melbourne, Australia-based design and public art installation firm ENESS, seems simple enough: a lot of effects done on a computer to make the effect of objects moving in and around a city center. But this is one painstaking, deliberate, detailed piece of stop motion, public art.

We went by LUSH's exhibition at FIFTY24SF Gallery last night to shoot a few preview photos, and the Melbourne artist told us that he felt more comfortable picking a few out from his stash. So, we got nudity, because LUSH built a peep show, complete with stripper pole in the gallery for LUSH Sells His Soul in SF.

LUSH says "Follow This"

Graffiti // Friday, April 22, 2011
We don't want to ruin the surprise of the video that LUSH has after the jump for you, but in terms of graffiti art at the moment, this kid from Melbourne is absolutely having a good time with it. His style is interesting, a tad pornographic at times, but done with sense of humor and a good spirit. The video confirms it. Watch after the jump . . .
