Matthias Weisher is a German painter whose interiors create a disorienting balance between illusionistic space and chaos. The flattened rectangles of walls and patterned carpets are reminiscent of Hockney's interiors that exhibit a heightened illusionistic tension between flatness and depth, but Weisher's works delve into a world that is even more strange and more confusing.
