Presented as a series of panels, these handmade objects oscillate between many registers: the physical and the digital, the mundane and the uncanny, the tragic and the comic.

Opening through June 28 2014, the exhibition is the artist’s first solo-exhibition in a New York gallery. Eight of the artist’s brightly colored, meticulously painted works will be on view.

Matthew Palladino, the San Francisco-based artist who has seen much success over the past few years, just opened a new body of work, Sweet Relief, at Eli Ridgway Gallery in SF this past weekend. Normally creating work in a unique, flat aesthetic, Pallandino's new work features enamel coated plaster casts made from commercial chocolate molds. A gif to explain is after the jump . . .
