Currently living in San Francisco, Columbus, Ohio native Matt Furie was born in 1979. New Image Art gallery in LA recently opened their latest exhibition - "The Goblin Universe" featuring artwork by Matt Furie and Michelle Devereux. Expect the usual assortment of imaginative, hyper coloured "phantoms, monster sluts, and other mythical creatures" from Furie, all alongside Devereux's new series "Dudes on Pizza", which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. This is Devereux's first show on the West Coast, so make sure you don't miss it! The Goblin Universe will run through to 7 July, 2012.

New Image Art in Los Angeles is set to open a brand new exhibition this Saturday, June 2, The Goblin Universe, featuring the works of San Francisco-based Matt Furie and Austin, Texas based Michelle Devereux (her first show outside of Texas). We happen to like her new series, Dudes on Pizza. There will be a lot of colored pencil in this exhibition... a good thing.

If everything awesome about your grade school doodles were magnified times ten, the art of Matt Furie would be the result. The San Francisco-based artist fully embraces the immaturity of a 9-year-old boy's fantasies and pushes them head-on into an adult-oriented reality. It's like if David Lynch directed a kid's TV show. Very weird, and very rad.
