Mary Heilmann is a New York painter originally from San Francisco. Her work plays an important role in contemporary abstract painting. Her current show at Hauser & Wirth in London "VIsions, Waves, and Roads" (running until April 5th), depicts scenes of road trips, waves from the California, Spanish, and New York coastlines, and several color works evoking tribute to Modernist masters like Malevich.
