This Saturday, October 18th, Mark Mulroney will be opening "It's Nice Outside" at Evergold Gallery in San Francisco. It is a show of new paintings consisting of nude pedestrians, couples holding hands nad strong men with weak minds. Go and see several hand made paintings that resist the urge to hire fabricators or consider the opinions of mothers.

In this intimate video interview, one of my all time favorite erotic artists, Mark Mulroney, discusses sex, death, cheap jokes, twerking, why centerfolds matter, cartoons and his drawing process. The film was made possible by Deanna Sheward and Luis M. Castañeda (2013). Enjoy.

This past weekend Mark Mulroney opened his newest solo show "A Fertile Menace" at San Francisco's own Ever Gold Gallery and Juxtapoz was there to catch it. Mulroney expands his wonderful, twisted universe across an impressive range of new paintings, collages and sculptures in which childlike naiveté and vibrant comic elements become both counterpoints to and the vocabulary for scenes of sex, violence and decay...

Tomorrow, May 4, 2013, Ever Gold Gallery in San Francisco presents a third solo exhibition from New York-based artist, Mark Mulroney. Strangely, the press release for “A Fertile Menace” accurately describes the tone of much of Mulroney’s work. "Mark Mulroney has never stabbed anyone. Once he tried to punch someone in the face but he missed, then he ran. Fortunately for Mulroney he is very fast and has managed to stay safe for nearly 35 years....

'Mixed Greens is ecstatic to announce Mark Mulroney’s fifth solo exhibition with the gallery. The drawings, carved wood panels, murals, and objects shows began with the simple vision of a man stranded on a desert island with a palm tree, two coconuts, and maybe a girl...'

If you've ever wondered what perverse, children's illustrations would look like on LSD, or how one could combine amateur, hallucinogenic drawings with bizarre surrealism and realism at the same time, look no further than the work of Mark Mulroney. Fascinating, captivating, humorous, and well rounded- the talent of Mulroney still stands as one of my favorites.

On a lighter note, some carved wooden sculptures of women, in every shape and size from New York based artist Mark Mulroney (featured in July 2011). In his artist statement, he explains, “People don’t want to die, and they want to have sex.” In regards to this, Mark states, 'I think almost all art is about looking at death and trying to defy it somehow. Having sex is a way of defying death. I make work about these things because they are what interests me...

If we are having a lucky month, we will get a little something special in the mail from NY-based artist, Mark Mulroney. Just little droplets of abstraction from an artist we featured in the July 2011 issue. Mr. Mulroney will be dropping little bits of comic abstraction at Galleries Goldstein at Goodhood, London, this May 3 in a new exhibition called Spring Time Pictures.
