SelgasCano Arquitectos, a Madrid-based Architecture firm, designed this very serene looking office space under the trees. The transparent half of the structure is covered with a bent sheet of Plexiglas. The opposite side is closed-in with translucent fiberglass and polyester to allow for the shadows of the trees to project through the surface.

Madrid-based Gabriel Moreno's psychedelic figural images almost read like streams of consciousness. With drastic color gradients and multi-layered imagery that both emerge from and envelop his figures, Moreno creates dreamlike scenes in which his subjects' thoughts seem to bleed through their skin.

Gabriel Moreno is an illustrator, engraver, and painter based in Madrid, Spain. In 2007 he began promoting his phenomenal portfolio and was selected by London-based magazine Computer Arts as one of the year's 20 new talents of illustration, quickly establishing himself as a successful and respected professional illustrator. He has since gained national and international exposure, working for an impressive array of agencies and publications.

NastPlas is the collective of two Madrid, Spain based illustrators and digital artists; Dr Franken and Natalia Molinos. At first, we thought the work was burned wax on top of illustration, but we love the way the duo have digitally recreated that sort of uneven surface in their portraits.

An influential force in the world of street art, Blu recently completed this provocative new mural in Madrid, Spain. The imagery depicts a train made up of army tanks, cars, shopping carts filled with consumer items, oil barrels, and money being shoveled into the hybrid house engine, excelling towards the edge of a cliff. The artist’s grim view on our current state of affairs is haunting and undeniably true.  

Artist Ricardo Cavolo was born in an art studio and says therefore he has been making art since his very first day. He says of his work, "I try to create a special mix creating complex and weird stories using a naif and direct style. My main influences are the outsider art and folk art. But I use music, literature, films, fashion, history, etc., too for creating my work."

We think that the whole tilt-shift trend is still something rather magical, a hallucinatory feeling but rooted in reality. Joerg Daiber's film focues on Spain, specifically the cities of Madrid, Seville, and El Chorro. The tagline reads: "Broke, But Beautiful." Well, we guess that is one way to put it. 

One of our favorite street intervention collectives we have seen over the past year is Luzinterruptus, a Madrid-based group that takes high-concept street art to a new level with fully interactive pieces that highlight the problems in the given city they work in.
