We sent Juxtapoz contributor, Jason Jaworski, to the book signing of Sasha Grey for her book, Neü Sex, held last week at Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles. Jason wrote an essay on Sasha, a personal friend of his, that we are happy to share today.

Egyptians mummied cats to honor deities and the Ashanti people of Ghana were known to occasionally execute any man who killed a feline. In the tradition of honoring one of human’s greatest companions, a group of artists started the appropriately titled, Cat Cult.

Sasha Grey will be having a gallery show and signing her new art book, NEÜ SEX, at Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles this May 3-4, 2011. We don't know what the gallery show portion of the show means, but we know the book signing will be popular.

In an effort to raise funds and help influential LA graffiti artist REVOK pay his legal fees after being sentenced to 180 days in an LA County jail for previous vandalism charges and "not paying sufficient restitution to his victims," SEVER has designed this t-shirt now being sold through The Seventh Letter.

Melbourne-born, LA-based Dabs Myla and Spanish-born, NYC-based How & Nosm have teamed up for another nice mural in Hollywood, California, this time with "Art In the Streets" exhibiting artist, RIME. We showed you last week how we stumbled upon How & Nosm painting a large mural in downtown Los Angeles, but we couldn't make it over to watch Dabs Myla add their portion to the building-sized collaborative piece. Tonight at New Image Art Gallery in Los Angeles, Brooklyn artist Judith Supine opens his newest solo show, LADYBOY. Supine has transformed the entire gallery into a personal installation space, covering every inch of floor, wall and ceiling with silk-screened wallpaper, his signature fluorescent colors and dreamlike narratives.
