Sometimes, all you need are acrylic and pastel paintings on wood to get your day started. Los Angeles-based JL Robbins evolving series is a mix of both mystical, magical realism and erotica. We guess his previous career as a lab technician fabricating prosthetics and orthotics has paid off.

Raymond Pettibon, cover artist of our 100th issue, will be opening a new body of work at Regen Projects, Desire in Pursuyt of the Whole, tonight, November 4 in Los Angeles. The exhibition will mark Mr. Pettibon's ninth solo at Regen, with the title referring to Baron Corvo's complex novel of three interlocking plots where the author is thinly disguised as the protagonist.

Jeremy Fish, the cover of our October 2011 issue, will have a new body of work (shown alongside Kenichi Yokono) on display at Mark Moore Gallery in Culver City starting this Saturday, October 29. Mr. Fish sent us a few preview images, along with a message about his beloved van for you all the hear.

We just saw that El Mac and Kofie, two former Juxtapoz features and oft-collaborators, just finished this fantastic new mural at Los Angeles' KROQ radio station's Sound Space. Nice piece in the spirit of music, with some signature touches from both Mac and Kofie.

Los Angeles-based Saber has long been an artist who is concerned with various politcal causes, and the Occupy Wall Street movement has inspired him to create the #OccupyFlag project. Saber organized a huge American Flag broken into 64 individual protest signs laid on the South East lawn of City Hall in LA.

Running until October 20th is Richard Jackson's The Little Girl's Room at David Kordansky Gallery. The show is Jackson's first solo show in Los Angeles in 20 years. Jackson, if you are not yet familiar, is known for his innovation and experimentation within painting.

Six days of painting and plenty of red, white, and black were needed to complete this large-scale mural by How and Nosm in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles. The two artists will be displaying their work at Known Gallery this Saturday, October 15 in Los Angeles.

Politically conscious and outspoken supporter of public art and graffiti, Los Angeles-based Saber, took the skies of Los Angeles today for a skywriting protest of LA City Council's moratorium on street murals. If they are going to okay some advertising billboards, might as well take your public art to the next level.
