L.A.'s Skid Row fashion shoot by Géraldine Freyeisen

Photography // Sunday, February 15, 2015
Géraldine Freyeisen moved from Paris to Los Angeles a few years back and as a result of her two habits of walking (exposed her to the large amount of people living in the streets) and smoking (a reason to start a conversation), the photographer began to document the occupants of downtown’s Skid Row.

Hudson Marquez "Rhythm and Shoes" @ La Luz de Jesus, LA

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, January 13, 2015
Hudson Marquez is famous to you and me because he is one of the main men behind Cadillac Ranch, the amazing public art installation and sculpture in Amarillo, Texas. And he is going to be even more famous to you and I by having a feature in an upcoming issue of Juxtapoz as well as his current exhbition, Rhythm and Shoes, at La Luz de Jesus in Los Angeles. Says Marquez, "Ike Turner… Little Richard… Papa Lightfoot… Freddie King… Johnny Ace… Blaze Starr… Candy Barr… Lili St. Cyr. They all connect here in this series of paintings. Having heard tales of the RnB stars of the past, I’ve brought some to life. True Stories… Maybe."
