Illustrations by Steve Kim

Illustration // Tuesday, October 16, 2012
Steve Kim's work is founded on a process of abstraction and subtraction, in which anatomical details are detracted and replaced with planes of color and white voids. His fractured compositions become a game of visual conjecture, where the viewer works to fill in the blank. Kim received his BFA from the Art Center College of Design and his MFA from Claremont Graduate University. He lives and works in Los Angeles.

The Art of NC Winters

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, September 11, 2012
Too often in our genre an artist is sprung into the spotlight too early, before they've been able to properly grow, develop their technique and actually experience being a gallery artist as a real job. We've been showing N.C. Winters at Gallery1988 for almost 7 years now, and there is no one we've shown who's been able to improve and benefit from that process more than him.
