UK-based painter, Charming Baker, has been creating impressive oil on wood pieces that we have been hearing a lot of buzz about. His influences include "Cheap books, heroes, girls, Zulus, odd-looking women, suburbia, da riddum, family, stories, horses, dogs, packaging, summer holidays, the smell of make-up and cheap perfume, powertools, tea, tomatoes, Britain in Colour."

We posted William Edmonds' work back in 2008 and his work has developed over the last few years. Edmonds is based in London and is part of the three person artist/design group Nous Vous. Years later, we continue to find Edmonds' use of color and pattern pleasing.

The Nuke Lamp

We are not going all pro-nuclear weapons here, but this is a well-designed concept for a table lamp. The lamp's surfaces were created using real fluid dynamics simulations, aka, it was not just a flash-in-the-pan creation. The piece was created by Veneridesign of London.
