Liqen & Interesni Kazki in Ukraine

Liqen teamed up with Waone and AEC of Interesni Kazki, both are continuously creating remarkable murals around the globe in distinctly different styles. Interesni Kazki works in a vibrant color palette in contrast to Liqen’s often black-and-white application, however both create imagery that is otherworldly and certainly surreal. This new piece, with contributions from both artists was painted in Yalta, Crimea, Ukraine.

Often painting in black and white with a keen eye for shading, Liqen’s newest mural in Cerdedo, Spain is the exact opposite, displaying an electrifying color palette. The artist painted a white boar poking its head out of the local fauna with some awkward faced insects hanging around.

Spanish muralist, Liqen, who was featured in our printed April 2012 issue, traveled to Okinawa, Japan last month leaving traces of his handy work around the island. One mural done with a roller depicts a tiny atomic cloud in the palm of a hand and in another part of Okinawa faces were painted on a collection of cinder blocks.

Liqen sent over some photos of his newest mural painted in the Xanenetla delbarrio, a suburb city of Puebla, Mexico. The Spanish artist returned to Mexico after being invited by the “Collective Tomato” to paint a mural in part of revitalization project. He chose to paint the nations staple food corn, creating faces in each kernel to represent the idea of family.
