Imagine walking through a virtual world, where pixels on a screen are replaced by thousands of points of light floating in space. Imagine that these points of light create environments, atmospheres and physical spaces that you can enter, affect, immerse yourself in.

LED Ice Slides in China

This is epic. As part of the Harbin Ice Festival in China, visitors can partake in the time-honored pastime of LED lit ice sliding. There are a couple things at play here that should be noted. One, you are sliding from an ice castle, and two, you have to slide at night for the full light effect. China, here we come.

Public Light Interventions by Armsrock

We have always loved the work of Danish artist, Armsrock, featuring him in the magazine when he was doing brilliant street works of everyday people in their normal everyday environments. We are a litlte late to the game on these, but the artist created these fantastic light interventions for his series "Markinger", where he projected engravings done with an etching needle on black Pani slide. The project was done at a train station in 2010 in Copenhagen.

A field of 5,000 Christmas lights by Bruce Munro

Time to get the Holiday season off to an incredible start. Light artist Bruce Munro has created a beautiful installation at the Holburne Museum in Bath, England, consisting of over 5,000 Christmas lights, literally creating the feeling of a field of lights.
