Last week, we attended the Levi's Vintage Clothing exhibition called "The Biker with Oil and Leather & The Bikeriders" at the flashship store in downtown San Francisco. Featuring 21 painted motorcycle jackets from 13 international artists--many of whom are tattoo artists as well--and documents and photographs from Danny Lyon's "The Bikeriders," the show pays homage to the American biker legacy. Featuring 21 painted motorcycle jackets from 13 international artists--many of whom are tattoo artists as well--and documents and photographs from Danny Lyon's "The Bikeriders," the show pays homage to the American biker legacy. Mark Bradford is best known for his large-scale paintings made from materials that he gathers from the streets around his Los Angeles studio. Using both collage and décollage techniques, Bradford creates abstract works that can be seen as topographies of the city's physical as well as social, economic, and cultural landscape.

Recently, Shepard Fairey and the Obey Giant team made their way over to Paris for a few projects, one was a gigantic mural, and the other was to team up with Parisian artist Mr. Andre for a special collaboration at the Levi's Champs-Élysées Flagship store. We just got a video of how the project turned out...

Just after the MOCA "Art In the Streets" exhibition opened up shop in Los Angeles, Revok became a symbol of the entire show, as he was arrested at LAX for graffiti offences right after the opening. That said, we think this limited edition Levi's x MOCA Trucker from Revok will be popular.

Levi's continues their limited edition releases of artist-designed Trucker jackets in conjunction with their partnership with MOCA's "Art In the Streets." On Saturday, June 4, Levi's will release their newest collaborative jacket with NYC-based artist, KR.

Juxtapoz were esteemed guests at the premiere of Alex Stapleton's documentary, the Levis' presents, "Outside In: The Story of Art In the Streets" at Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood this past Tuesday evening. The film captured the making of the MOCA's "Art In the Streets "exhibition that opened last month in LA.

As we wrote last week, we were fortunate enough to catch some early glimpses of Levi's Presents "Outside In: The Story of Art In the Streets," Alex Stapleton's documentary on the MOCA's "Art In the Streets" exhibition. The film premieres tonight, May 24, in Los Angeles at 7PM at the Egyptian Theatre.
