In the Magazine: Leif Podhajsky

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 21, 2014
We are all, in our own fashion, constantly collecting. Over time, moments, experiences and visions accumulate within our own cerebral catalogs, compiling a personal database. Events and elements gather in the inner consciousness as we build and house a type of visual anthology. To the creatively inspired, this input can also become an output, almost as effortlessly as it was collected. Leif Podhajsky has mastered this process of visual remixing, creating psychotropic landscapes within his infinitely ethereal imagination. Provoked by defining experiences and visual attractions, Leif arranges these altered perceptions, visually melting reality together with dreamlike repetition and seductively combined overlay.

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 07, 2014
Juxtapoz is proud to announce a very special August 2014 issue, featuring one of our all-time favorite musicians, creatives, and all around artistic personas, Madlib. One common thread has always been the unique and artistically-driven alter egos that Madlib has given to the world, and in this issue, we talk to the musician about his world of music and art.

Music // Tuesday, April 15, 2014
Leif Podhajsky has been one of our favorite art directors and artists for music album covers in recent years, having worked with Foals, Lykke Li, Tame Impala, Grimes, Mount Kimble, and Youth Lagoon amongst others. Leif does the new wave psychedelia very well, combining photography and collage in a way that seems both futuristic and vintage. Leif just did the packaging and cover design for Kelis' new LP, "Food," and the accompanying singles.

The Works of Leif Podhajsky

Music // Thursday, January 03, 2013
Leif Podhajsky recently caught our attention after we saw his album cover art for his fellow Australians, Tame Impala. As an artist and creative director, his work explores themes of connectedness, the relevance of nature and the psychedelic or altered experiences of life. By using these subjects, he attempts to inspire the viewer into a realignment with themselves and their surroundings.

When we look back on some of the better albums we have listened to in the Jux offices this year, Lykke Li's Wounded Rhymes and Shabazz Palaces' Black Up were tops on our list. We just learned that artist and creative director Leif Podhajsky designed artwork for both artists this year, as well as a group of great underground musicians and projects.
