Lehmann Maupin will present Alex Prager’s debut exhibition in Hong Kong through May 16, 2015. Continuing her exploration of the psychological experiences of crowds and the individuals within them, Prager will exhibit five new, large-scale photographs as well as video work. Not only have we featured Alex in the magazine in the past and in our special photography zine last year, we are featuring her sister, Vanessa, in the new issue of Jux.

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to present a group of seminal films and video sculptures by pioneering artists Gilbert & George. Among the longest-enduring artist duos, they have had sustained influence on the contemporary art world for the past fifty years. The exhibition Films and Video Sculptures, 1972-1981 will be shown in the gallery’s 201 Chrystie Street location and represents an integral, transitional link between the artists’ early art and their later, more widely known large-scale pictures. This exhibition is the artists’ fifth show with Lehmann Maupin.

Alex Prager has been quite busy in recent months, first opening her first US museum survey at Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC this past November, and now opening a new solo show, "Face in the Crowd," at Lehmann Maupin in New York City. And she had a six-page feature in the December issue of Juxtapoz. Busy times. Not only will she have a new body of work to show, Prager will be presenting a three-channel video installation as part of the exhibition.

Juergen Teller's photographic style and refusal to separate commercial and un-commissioned personal work has become a recognizable characteristic of his output. Teller's photography has thrived in both the commercial and fine art realms; he has been working with Marc Jacobs for the past 14 years as well as shown his work in prestigious museums such as MoMA.
