Last weekend saw the opening of TrustoCorp’s new solo exhibition “The Future is Blight” at LeBasse Projects in Los Angeles. The guerilla art group who are known for a range of polished, occasionally humorous public installations and meticulously fabricated billboards, took on a minimal, more subtle approach displaying work created in a variety of mediums such as sculptures, paintings, work on paper, and prints. LeBasse Projects is pleased to present an exhibition of all new paintings and works on paper from Australian artist Melissa Haslam. Known for her meticulous painting methods and refined images of pop culture, Haslam once again draws attention to constructed societal roles and an obsession with youth and perfection in a series of haunting new paintings and drawings entitled “Floating Garden.”

This Saturday, LeBasse Projects in Los Angeles will open Joshua Petker's newest body of work, Adrift. In a departure from his layered, textural, neon portrait paintings combining portrait and abstract styles, Petker's new exhibition features more conceptual, "nautical themed works as well as a companion series of portraits – still recognizable as the same artist but distinctively different paintings."

San Francisco was on the art beat this weekend with 3 different art fairs to attend, and Friday afternoon we made our way to artMRKT, the most internationally represented fair of the trio. From Park Life, to LeBasee, to Daniel Horowitz' fantastic collection of collage and drawings at Muriel Guepin's booth, this year's showing was also SF's most eclectic.

Yoskay Yamamoto’s latest solo exhibition Joke's On Me opened this past Saturday at LaBasse Projects Chinatown location. This new body of work consists of a large collection of sculptures in a variety of mediums; all based on iconic childhood characters.
