Not only have they survived, they do prevail,” is the lengthy title of a new exhibition that will open at Monte Clark Gallery featuring the work of the two highly influential photographers, Gary Winogrand and Larry Clark. There are not many details available at this time for the exhibition, but those two names alone should be enough to draw significant interest to this exhibition that opens on July 11, 2015.

The text included on the first pages of Larry Clark’s newest book Wacko Maria is written by the prolific photographer himself and in short conveys his distaste for fashion photography, “hollyfuckingwood” producers and distributors, and his relationship to the kids from South Central, Los Angeles (his cast for his movie Wassup Rockers) who appear throughout the book.

If you haven’t already caught the news, Larry Clark - cult filmmaker and photographer, has decided to sell photographs dating from 1992-2010 for £100 a piece. The images will mainly include images printed in pharmacies or one hour photo developers, all unique and sized 4x6 or 5x7. Larry Clarke is quoted as saying that the sale is for: “all the kids that come to my shows in their thousands and could never afford 10 to 15 thousand dollars for a print.
