Paintings by Landon Metz

Juxtapoz // Saturday, December 15, 2012
Landon Metz' recent paintings from the last year incorporate washy minimalist fields of color, at times apparently brushy, and at others more ordered resembling continents upon a map or other ambiguous forms that border on the recognizable but slip away into the abstraction of the canvas. WIth a consistent white background across the entire body of work, Metz plays with varying gradients, degrees of transparency and opacity, and compositional arrangements.
