Saber from The Seventh Letter (Juxtapoz #78) crew recently took a trip down to Querétaro, Mexico for the event Estilo Libre. One of the most prolific writers today, Saber obviously went down to paint and he definitely left a mark on the Mexican landscape. “I spent four days straight painting two different pieces in two different locations,” he writes. “I decided to use buff paint primarily, instead of all spray to show people to some new techniques.” Read what else Saber has to say and more photos from Mexico right here…

Estevan Oriol's (Juxtapoz #70) raw style of photography truly captures the essence of his subjects, so it’s a good thing Upper Playground has continued their partnership with the photographer by breathing new life into his work in the form of t-shirt graphics and accessories. Oriol’s latest series of tees and hoodies explore topics including police brutality, violence and sex, while also bringing back some classics. We love this Lost Angel hoodie, but hit up www.upperplayground.com to peep the entire Estevan Oriol line now.

We’ve all seen those repair shops, car rental offices, hell even your dad’s “den” displaying trashy calendars of bad photographs of half-way decent naked chicks, but here’s the real deal: Estevan Oriol and Upper Playground have just made available the 2009 LA Woman calendar, featuring the photography of famed Los Angeles-based shooter, Estevan Oriol. Yeah, it’s a 12-month calendar, 16" tall x 20" wide, featuring some of the loveliest ladies residing in Los Angeles. It should fit quite nicely on your wall, and now if someone gives you shit for having a girlie calendar, you can just tell em to stop being so shallow- it’s art. Oriol will be signing copies of this new gem this Friday, September 19th at 6pm at the brand new Upper Playground Seattle. More info on all that here. You can buy the 2009 LA Woman calendar here, right now.

If you were lucky enough to make it out to catch Retna, Saber, Ewok, and Revok (Juxtapoz #78) painting live for Boost Mobile in Boston this weekend, you know these graffiti legends killed it. And if you couldn’t make it to Boston, well…now you know it was dope and you missed it. To prove it, peep some event photos we snagged here…

Camille Rose Garcia (Juxtapoz cover #62) returns to Jonathan LeVine Gallery tomorrow night to present Ambien Somnambulants, a solo exhibition featuring new works by the artist. For Garcia’s second solo show at the gallery she will unveil a new series of original paintings, drawings, and a site-specific installation. In Ambien Somnambulants, tragic sleepwalkers wander along beautifully bleak post-apocalyptic dreamscapes, inspiring dissent from a dire dystopia. Ambien Somnambulants opens Saturday, September 6th and will remain on display thru October 4th, 2008. Alongside Garcia’s solo Ambien Somnambulants, Jonathan LeVine welcomes 134 artists in one continuous piece for a group show titled Panorama Project 3. Curated by Jordin Isip and Rodger Stevens, Panorama Project 3 will also open tomorrow night, Saturday September 6th. Be there. More at jonathanlevinegallery.com
