Kofie and El Mac just completed their 4th collaborative mural at 33third Store in Los Angeles. The two artists Painted the wall in conjunction with the Pasadena Museum of California Art's "Street Cred" exhibition opening this Sunday, May 15.

Patrick Martinez just sent us opening photos, shot by Brandon Shigeta, of the important "Dreams Deferred" show at the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles. We wrote about the show earlier this month, mentioning it showcased, "artists exploring the tensions, repercussions, hopes, and dreams of immigrant communities in the face of new immigration legislation, through a broad spectrum of art including street art, graffiti art, sculptures, painting and multimedia installations." This particular portrait is of Manuel Lee Chang, known locally as "el Chino"(despite the fact that he's of Korean descent) with his Guacamaya (Macaw). More information after the jump . . .

The Chinese American Museum and El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument have teamed together to present Dreams Deferred : Artists Respond to Immigration Reform opening this Thursday night, December 9th, in Los Angeles with a special opening reception. White Walls Gallery made its way down to Miami this week, with owner Justin Giarla curating both Never Say Never and The 6on12 Art Crawl at the W South Beach Hotel. With him he brought are from the Clayton Brothers, Blek le Rat, Kevin Cyr, D Young V, EINE, Greg Gossel, Casey Gray, Jessica Hess, HUSH,Kofie One, LEBO, Pedro Matos, Aaron Nagel, Ferris Plock, and Dan Witz amongst others. With a full Juxtapoz and Thrasher team in tow, we made it out to Glen E. Friedman's "Fuck You All" pre-opening at 941 Geary in San Francisco last night. How else to say it? The work is iconic, and to not sugar coat a damn thing, the photos are genre, generation-defining. With a few collaborative pieces with Shepard Fairey, along with the large space, the show had the appropriate aura to it. Check our shots after the jump...

It’s no secret that Kofie One’s (Juxtapoz #117) art is inspired by music so his process naturally includes a steady beat in the background while he fashions his intricate paintings. In anticipation of his solo opening this weekend, Kofie assembled a playlist for your auditory pleasure.
