We are huge fans of the work of Kim Keever here at Juxtapoz, and have had a chance to showcase the works on the site in the past. We love this "New Abstraction" series, "formed by paint being allowed to free flow through the water and form volumetric patterns." Keever has a great essay about the new works as well that we have here for your inspiration.

Kim Keever’s new abstract works for his next solo exhibition “Across the Volumes” will be opening at Waterhouse and Dodd in early April 2014, and Juxtapoz contributor David Molesky headed to see Keever in Manhattan.

Originally published on June 20, 2013: Kim Keever shoots large-scale photographs of incredibly detailed landscapes in a 200-gallon tank of water. The tank is filled with water or dry ice and lit with gel-covered lights to transform the strange world into a hazy, fantastical world. The behind-the-scenes is just as fascinating as the photographs themselves!

We saw a lot of art here at the magazine each day, but occasionally you get stopped in your tracks, and Kim Keever's work just did that to us. Currently showing at David B Smith Gallery in Denver, Keever shoots large-scale photographs of incredibly detailed topographies in a 200-gallon tank, which is then filled with water.
