One of the standout galleries in Los Angeles, HVW8, just opened a new exhibition by creative director, designer, and fine artist Kevin Lyons titled Shits & Giggles. Wait, its more of a "collection of Art Stuff Loosely formulated to Make A Show." That is a good description, or better yet, "works on paper, cloth, and glass exploring the far reaching positive influences of St. Ides Premium Malt Liquor on Hip-Hop culture." There we go.

We Was Them Kids … a group exhibition curated by Tyler Gibney opened this past weekend at HVW8 Art + Design Gallery in Los Angeles. A great group show, We Was Them Kids..., is opening at HVW8 Gallery tonight in Los Angeles, featuring works from Geoff McFetridge, Kevin Lyons, Parra, Matt Irving, Winston Tseng, Yogi Proctor, Charles Munka, Brent Rollins, and Alvaro Ilizarbe. HVW8 curator Tyler Gibney pulls together some of the finest contemporary artist/designers to have exhibited at the HVW8 Gallery in recent years into one solid group outing.

Michael Leon, who we featured in a great interview in our February 2011 issue, has his Stacks team out in the world, doing one-day stops for "The Cult of Stacks" tour. The 11-Years of Stacks event features skate photography from Eric Elms, Kevin Lyons, Geoff McFetridge, Michael Leon, Evan Hecox, as well as skating from Reese Forbes, Dani Lebron, Sebo Walker and Cameo Wilson. Last night in Paris, fine artist, designer and typographer Kevin Lyons opened Red, Gold, and Green at the influential and trendsetting gallery and retail hub, colette. The exhibition features Lyons now instantly recognizable humor and youthful wit, but when you begin to create your own style, it doesn't look so youthful anymore. Images after the jump . . .
