You like art. You like to go see some art shows now and then. Well, put on your walking shoes, and/or jetpack, and get ready for tonight and tomorrow and the next day, because Thursday, September 6th through Saturday, September 8th, appears to be some kind of attempt to have the most art openings in a three-day period, maybe ever. Here is our short list of why we wish that whole "Beam me up, Scotty" thing wasn't just science fiction. Thursday, September 6th, 2007 In case you missed our splash page and bulletin on MySpace and many news posts, Juxtapoz is sponsoring Fighting 4 Dreams at 111 Minna in San Francisco. Starts at 7:30 PM, must be 21+, sorry Junior. One Night Only! Maya Hayuk and Todd Bratrud have neighboring solo shows in the two spaces that make up Fifty24SF in San Francisco. Shows start at 7pm. Get there early, always a madhouse. Chris Duncan has a solo in one of the galleries at 49 Geary in San Francisco. Get there early - for reals, shows at this venue run from 5p - 8p, then it's time to hit the road. The adorable Lisa Congdon has a solo show at the Candy Store in the Mission District in San Francisco, starting 'round 7pm. It's called The Tenderhearted, perfect for this indie designer clothing boutique / candy store. Yum. SURU, in cahoots with Thinkspace Gallery, opens another Triple Threat Series in Los Angeles - new works by Camilla d'Errico, Kelly Haigh, and Angelina Wrona. Scion's A Beautiful World opens at Reed Space in New York City. In Bedford, Pennsylvania, at the Bedford Arts Council, there's an opening reception for Wicked, works from Robin Grass and Amandalynn that are inspired by the book of the same name by Gregory Maguire. 9pm.
