This past summer, we wrote about Juxtapoz cover artist (December 2009) Jose Parla working on two massive murals in Toronto for the Concord Project. Parla just sent out a video of the process, with interviews and timelapse of the murals creation.

The Parlá Brothers, Ray and José, both of whom worked on José's cover story for Juxtapoz in December 2009, created this video in conjunction with José's solo show at OHWOW in Los Angeles, Character Gestures. Longtime supporter of the art, agnès b, opened a new boutique in Manhattan at 50 Howard Street, featuring a gallery that is currently housing works by Rostarr, Young Kim, Ryan McGinness, Harmony Korine, Ryan McGinley, José Parla, BÄST, David Ellis, Louise Bourgeois and Jonas Mekas. Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery just posted preview images of the March 5, 2011 solo show for NYC-based José Parlá, titled Walls, Diaries, and Paintings. Earlier this week, a gala party was held in downtown Toronto for José Parlá to celebrate the reveal of two massive public art murals he painted as a commission for Concord CityPlace. Simon Cole of Show & Tell Gallery just passed us along the information, and as you can see, the murals are massive in the signature style that Parlá continues to champion. Wall, Diaries, and Paintings is available now through Hatje Cantz Verlag, and it is edited by Bryce Wolkowitz, whose Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York will showing Parlá on March 3, 2011.
