Showcasing a series of paintings that depict a world in the not so distant future, the show is based around the them of coacervate—from Latin “to assemble together or cluster”...

This past Saturday night in NYC, we headed over to Jonathan LeVine Gallery to check out the openings of Tara McPherson, Adam Wallacavage, and Japanese painter Masakatsu Sashie. First, we look at the new paintings of Tara McPherson, entitled Wandering Luminations, displayed brilliantly with subtle wall paintings and black backdrops.

Jonathan LeVine Gallery is pleased to present Ignorance is Bliss, a solo exhibition of new works by celebrated French stencil pioneer Blek le Rat in what will be his second solo exhibition at the gallery and his largest body of work, to date. In conjunction with the exhibition, the gallery will be releasing a new print edition and the artist will be creating a public mural in New York City.

Earlier this month, we made our way to NYC to see a special pop-up space hosted by Jonathan LeVine gallery to celebrate 10 Years of Wooster Collective. The opening brought out old friends, lots of artists, and many examples of just how far the Street Art genre has grown even in just under a decade. From Shepard Fairey to Faile, Space Invader to JR, ROA to Swoon, the curation by Marc and Sara Schiller help capture the spirit of one of the original pioneers of sharing Street Art across a web-based platform, helping turn a burgeoning art scene into an international following and kinship amongst artists and enthusiasts.

Jonathan LeVine Gallery is pleased to present 10 Years of Wooster Collective 2003—2013, a group exhibition curated by Marc & Sara Schiller, featuring works and site-specific installations by over fifty local and international artists in a temporary space located at: 525 West 22nd Street in Chelsea. In conjunction with the exhibition, a number of participating artists will create public murals at various locations in Brooklyn.

Guess what? These are all artists we want to see and endorse, and they have been in the magazine, most recently Mr. Mazzoni. The shows are on display through June 15, 2013.

Jonathan LeVine Gallery invited our colleagues at Juxtapoz Latin America to have a close talk with the street artist WK Interact in the pop-up space they created to celebrate the artist’s 25 years retrospective. The exhibition 360, held an extensive collection of objects, photographs, installation and canvases.

Opening last night,Jonathan LeVine Gallery opened Thursday’s Girl, a series of new works on canvas by Southern California-based artist Josh Agle (Shag), in what is his fourth solo exhibition at the gallery. The former Juxtapoz cover artist will have his show open through May 4, 2013. The show was inspired by the Velve Underground and the landmark song, "All Tomorrow's Parties."
