Born in 1942 and educated in the fine arts at the prestigious Art Students League in New York City, John Pitre evolved to become a master of fantasy and surrealism, creating entire imaginary worlds as well as depicting the natural elements of our own. His paintings are held in many leading collections worldwide and some of his pictures are widely recognized as iconic images of the 20th century.
