Drawings by Jessica Stewart

'The works under When You Escape are artist Jessica Stewart’s musings on dreams and those who wander lost in their imagined worlds. Dreams are vast, beautiful, consuming, unstable places built from secrets and fears, desires and damages. They are completely of our own individual constructions, but they are not safe.'

When You Escape

Illustration // Tuesday, July 19, 2011
Melbourne based artist Jessica Stewart creates monochromatic portraits of dreamers and lovers. Using pencil, paint and pastel she draws ships, homes, animals among all other sorts of symbolic objects to represent a bond, a freedom or maybe an escape from their current situation.
