Interview: Jessica Hess "More is More" @ Hashimoto Contemporary, SF

If you happened to purchase or browse through our Juxtapoz Hyperreal book, you have have stopped in your tracks at the work of Jessica Hess. Her work with oil on canvas works depict the more depleted parts of urbanity, but also carry out such strong and absorbing color control that these almost photorealistic works become abstract in appearence. On Saturday August 1, Hess will open More is More, a solo show of new paintings at Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco, and we have an interview with Hess talking about the work and the city as inspiration.

This Saturday, September 3, fine artist Jessica Hess opens a solo show, It Finds You, at White Walls in San Francisco. The exhibition will feature 25 new works, the bulk consisting of Hess' oil on canvas realist paintings of urban decay featuring various touches of street art and graffiti within the paintings.
