This month, we have asked a few of our artist friends to give us their favorite Beastie Boys' memories. Rarely does a band transcend so many groups and genres, and we knew artists of all ages had a memory they wanted to share. Today, we ask Jeremy Fish about how the Beastie's influenced a kid from upstate New York... 

Tilt Warning Customs has teamed up with artists to build an entirely custom classic pinball arcade art installation featuring five mechanically restored vintage 1970s machines reimagined by COOP, Frank Kozik, Alex Pardee, Sam Flores, and Jeremy Fish. Should the Kickstarter funding come through, they will start by opening at FIFTY24SF next year.

Last week, we headed over to Jeremy Fish's San Francisco studio to check out all the new work he was preparing for his exhibition, Where Hearts Get Left, opening Saturday, July 14, at FIFTY24SF Gallery. The show, featuring new paintings, sculptures, drawings, a new book, and a six screenprints, is all built around the concept of "a visual love letter to San Francisco," where Fish noted, "I am begging her to not become a sterile West Coast Manhattan any time soon. What are the constants? What are the things I will always love about SF no matter what happens?”

We get a chance to visit with Jeremy Fish every so-often, and generally it is on the occasion of a new exhibition or body of work being built. What we enjoy the most about visiting Fish in his SF North Beach studio is that whatever research or preparation he has compiled while making the work, the remnants are evident throughout his space...

Showing at Upper Playground's FIFTY24SF for the first time in 5 years, the exhibition features 60+ new works and is inspired by and created as a visual love letter to the city of San Francisco. Hey, we live in San Francisco!

A bold move by an adoring fan, this half-leg tattoo of San Francisco based artist Jeremy Fish's work was send in by an obvious die-hard fan of his work, or just bunny rabbits in eye-patches. Dedication.

Jeremy Fish, the 2x cover artist of Juxtapoz (most recently in October 2011), just released a brand new print today via Upper Playground, titled The Golden Hills.
