Jeremy Fish "Anger Management" @ Black Book Gallery, Denver

Juxtapoz // Monday, July 13, 2015
We are huge fans and friends with Jeremy Fish, who has graced our cover twice in the past and continues to be one of the mainstays of San Francisco. Not sure if all our readers know, but last year, Fish had to undergo two brain surgeries. As Black Book notes, "the 18 new pieces featured in Anger Management were produced in the 6 months between two brain surgeries undergone by the artist. After an aneurysm was found in his brain last November, Jeremy has focused on avoiding further agitating the artery through reducing his stress levels. These works are a result of visiting with an anger management specialist and rearranging his lifestyle so as not to threaten his health." Each of these works is a stunning testament to this time.

Juxtapoz x Adobe: "Yesterdays and Tomorrows" Public Animation

Juxtapoz // Monday, August 04, 2014
Over the last month on Juxtapoz.com, we’ve been documenting the behind-the-scenes making of Jeremy Fish’s animated mural that coincides with his next art exhibition, Yesterdays and Tomorrows. Using various Adobe programs, including Adobe Creative Cloud, with animator Brady Baltezore, Fish has taken 100 11x14-inch ink-on-paper drawings and turned them into one continuous animation. This past weekend in San Francisco...

Jeremy Fish x Aesop Rock … “None Shall Pass” and the Story of Collaboration

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 23, 2014
By the time hip-hop artist and producer Aesop Rock released his brilliant 2007 album, None Shall Pass, he was already a major name within the underground hip-hop scene. But None Shall Pass sounded a bit different than his past work: the lyrics were more esoteric, stories more dense, the beats and samples a bit more abstract. And, it was an album that showcased a unique friendship: Jeremy Fish was not only the creator of the cover artwork for None Shall Pass, but his signature characters were animated in the music video for the album’s title track.

Juxtapoz × Adobe Present: Jeremy Fish’s "Yesterdays and Tomorrows" Animation in Progress

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 16, 2014
At some point in the process of making his mural animation, Jeremy Fish was going to have to go to summer school — the Brady Baltezore School — where he would learn about all the advantages of Adobe’s latest updates to Creative Cloud.

Juxtapoz x Adobe Present: The Making of... A Jeremy Fish Drawing

Juxtapoz // Thursday, July 10, 2014
For the past few months, we have been following a special project between Adobe, Juxtapoz, and Jeremy Fish, in which Fish will be creating an animated mural that utilizes the new updates to Adobe Creative Cloud and the new creative hardware, Adobe Ink & Slide. Previously we had asked, “What if Fish took his 100 drawings—telling not only his history but also a special story about San Francisco—and created an animation that could be projected in a public space in the city for passersby to see as part of a moving-mural experience?” At the end of July 2014, Fish will be projecting the mural in the North Beach neighborhood, which he calls home.

Juxtapoz x Adobe: Looking back on Jeremy Fish, Cover Artist, October 2011

Vault // Tuesday, July 08, 2014
We have a long history with Mr. Jeremy Fish. He used to work in our offices with Think Skateboards, honing his chops as one of our favorite skateboard artists of all time. He then spread his wings and became one of the most popular and beloved artists we’ve had the honor to cover in our magazine, from fine-art shows and European tours to album covers and illustrations. As chance would have it, he is one of just a handful of artists to make the cover of Juxtapoz twice. We consider him family.
