We wanted to give a big shout out to all the young and up-and-coming artists, designers, and photographers who came down to the T.Sq Newsstand last night and brought their portfolios for Juxtapoz Editor Evan Pricco, artist Kimou "Grotesk" Meyer, Victory Journal's Aaron Amaro, and artist Jeff Soto to check out and give whatever advice you needed. There are a ton of talented kids out there, and we got to see a great group.

This should be a good one. Jeff Soto, a 2x cover aritst, Jux x Converse collaborator and all around awesome artist, is set to open a new solo show, Nightgardens, and Merry Karnowsky's KP Projects / MKG this Saturday, June 27th. Amazingly, and we had to double check this, it is Soto's first solo show in Los Angeles since 2009... which he was on the cover of Juxtapoz that month! We have some preview images plus some shots of Jeff's studio taken by Jordan Ahern.

We have been working with a few Andy Warhol projects over the past month, and we were happy to see this go up on Paddle8's auction site today: The Andy Warhol Foundation is proud to present this auction which includes original artwork inspired by Warhol’s work created by ten renowned artists (all artists who have been in Juxtapoz over the past year or two as well). Proceeds will benefit NURTUREart, a non-profit institute dedicated to nurturing new contemporary art by providing exhibition opportunities and resources for emerging artists, curators and public school students.

We landed in Honolulu yesterday and hit the ground running, checking out countless murals in progress for POW WOW, an annual gathering of contemporary artists. Some of our favorite artists from the international community as well as fresh, local talent from Hawaii are currently coating walls in the Kaka’Ako neighborhood, and there are good vibes around every corner. Nothing beats painting in paradise.
