Oakland has notably been a strong magnet of sorts for graffiti writers around the country to come claim residency and attempt to make a name for themselves. Writers have recently been dedicating pieces to the city, even if it is not their native turf. Jeans and Kure certainly have done one of the better homage’s to the city of Oakland with this new mural.

I wonder what this look like to someone who is unfamiliar with graffiti in general? Do they see some sort of merit in the designs and patterns? Do they think a little teenager scribbled this? Is it a gang?

This dude killed this wall with some simple letters, connections, and really cool fill-ins. Palm trees and sunshine living is that Cali life.

Jeans would have to be 8 feet tall to paint this, so how did he do it?  Magik with a “k” of course. Little pieces in assuming spots.  Two thumbs up!  

The fact that this cityscape vaguely and intentionally says Jeans makes it that much greater.
