Opening this Friday, November 11th is Double Break's fifth exhibtion: Double Breaks. The group show is co-curated by LA-based artist Jay Howell and Double Break co-owner Louis Schmidt. The show hosts some of our favorite artists including Mark Mulroney, Thomas Campbell, Mark Whalen, Travis Millard, and Mel Kadel just to name a few.

Vans' Supply and Demand Show, a House of Vans group show featuring works by Chris Yormick, Rich Jacobs, Russ Pope and Jay Howell, opened last Saturday, September 10, to a great crowd of fans who ventured out to the 20,000 square feet warehouse to see the unique show and art installation.

"I'm always scared to show my Mom what I'm doing," says LA-based illustrator Jay Howell. "It's just sad to show your parents little pictures you drew of naked people and like, mountains with boners and stuff... I just want people to laugh." Howell most recently developed the characters for Fox's latest Sunday night animated sitcom, "Bob's Burgers."

Double Break is a new space recently opened in June by UC San Diego MFA graduates Louis Schmidt and Matt Coors. The art and design book store and gallery had a show with Jay Howell and Chris Kardambikis that runs until August 28, 2011.

Jay Howell (Juxtapoz #113) has been hard at work as of late on paintings, drawings, and animation work. Aside from developing his own TV show, Howell has a new series of works completed, titled I understand and I wish to continue.
