Thumbs Up! David Choe on VBS

Juxtapoz // Friday, June 08, 2007
This started up awhile ago, but in case you didn't see it, here's a link to Episode One of Thumbs Up!, David Choe's hitchhiking adventures across America that he did for Vice Magazine's online broadcasting site Thumbs Up! went on hiatus halfway through the trip, but more episodes are coming down the pipe soon. Choe and his cousin, Harry Kim, start off the series by goofing off in the Los Angeles train yard for a bit, outlining their travel strategy (they'll take any form of transport, they just won't pay for any of it), and talking about how to avoid getting raped on the road. As evening approaches, they realize they need to figure out how to get going, but not before investigating evidence of human excretion and meeting a guide who relates his recent sexual conquest with a Klingon. It doesn't stop. {moscomment}

Hi-Fructose #5

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, May 09, 2007
The latest issue of Hi-Fructose is almost here. The new issue features Amy Sol on the cover (who we recently featured here on, art and an interview with James Jean, undisclosed locations of Mars-1, Lori Earley, and the ever curious bipeds of Travis Louie. There are multi-page exposés on Parskid, the Street installations of Mark Jenkins, Friends With You's Rainbow Valley, Josh Keyes, Designer Vinyl, and much more yet to be revealed. While you're at it, check out their blog. You probs already know this, but Hi-Fructose is co-run by Attaboy, and they've got a youtube post of his new animation series, "Too Many Robots." It's very stylish. {moscomment}

Joy Ang

Juxtapoz // Friday, April 27, 2007
Alberta College of Art & Design graduate Joy Ang is largely (and openly) influenced by illustrator James Jean, but the beautiful collection of work on her web portfolio is all hers. As a commerical illustrator, she's produced work for Marvel, Capcom, and Nokia, but her development in the fine arts realm will surely be one to watch... and if that doesn't work out, she's a whiz at snow sculpture. Check out her giant snow pikachu in the "Random" section of her beautifully designed website, {moscomment}
