Secret Lives of Others: The Works of Emiliano Ponzi

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, October 30, 2012
Tell us you have never done a little secret spying on your neighbors, even by accident, and we call you a liar. It's just the nature of humans, and illustrator Emiliano Ponzi has taken the concept of voyeurism (or peeping Tom) and created this fantastic appearing installation, The Sunrise Hotel,  in Rome at Wunderkammern Gallery.

Kofie in Turin, Italy

Juxtapoz // Friday, October 19, 2012
Los Angeles-based draftsman, Kofie, recently completed this exceptionally large mural entitled "Futurino" for the Picturin Torino Festival in Turin, Italy. Kofie’s strong line work and geometrical shapes blends naturally into the architectural landscape. Definitely one of the biggest mural we have seen him paint yet.

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 01, 2012
This building in Roma, Italy received a new roman-style look courtesy of Blu. Although a closer look will reveal a number of controversial topics including religion, politics, authority, and even dog sex!

The Works of Nicola Samori

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 01, 2012
The paintings of Italian artist, Nicola Samori, are full of sensuous energy. The thirty-five year old’s style is derived from the classical paintings of early renaissance masters. With the highest degree of precession, his figures emerge from the darkness of pictorial space into the light with dramatic realism.

FAME Festival 2012, Part 1

Juxtapoz // Friday, September 28, 2012
A bunch of street art festivals are going off in the world right now, Johannesburg, Italy, and Norway, and we just got a series of shots from the opening of FAME Festival in Grottaglie, Italy. Vhils, Ericailcane, Interesni Kazki, Lucy McLauchlan, and others all had work in the opening show to coincide with the street works across the town.

Ericailcane @ Fame Festival 2012

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Last year at this time, we were traversing the streets of Grottaglie, Italy, enjoying FAME Festival and the murals that have gone up in the town over the past years. An interview with Angelo Milano of FAME and Studiocromie later, we have to enjoy this year's FAME from a distance, but we love what we are seeing from March 2010 subscriber cover artist, Ericailcane on the side of an apartment building.

Preview: Tim Biskup "Excavation" @ Antonio Colombo, Milan

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Tim Biskup's exhibition of new paintings opens this Thursday at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea in Milan, Italy. The new body of work began with a series of abstract drawings created in a burst of creative energy. The urge to loosen up came after a visit to MoMA NYC for the William de Kooning retrospective as well as in reaction to the rigid complexity of the work for his Former State exhibition at THIS Gallery in Los Angeles nearly a year ago.

Lucy McLauchlan @ Fame Festival 2012 Video

Juxtapoz // Friday, September 07, 2012
Clocks slay time. That is a great line. Why I'm thinking about The Sound and the Fury at noon on a Friday, while watching Matt Watkins' wonderfully quiet and subtle short documentary on Lucy McLauchlan creating various art objects at FAME Festival, I actually have no idea. Except, this is definitely one of the better 4 minutes you will spend today, and has an overall message that will resonate; You. Must. Create. (Sorry YMC, but you copyrighted a good sentiment). Digression done, watch.

AEC of Interesni Kazki @ Fame Festival 2012

Street Art // Friday, August 31, 2012
Another piece from the Interesni Kazki team that transports you to another time and space. AEC from the Ukrainian duo was in Grottaglie, Italy to paint this wall/building for Fame Festival 2012, but from the sound of it, this was a stressful piece. Punctured tires of the lift, stuck in the mud, and then, it didn't work. Lifts are stressful. Watch the video after the jump . . .
