We are on our way to Fame Festival at the moment, and we just saw the new works that 108 did in Grottaglie. If you don't know about the Italian artist, 108, definitely someone to look up and get acquainted with. He completed this large mural in town, as well as some prints.

As team Juxtapoz prepares for our trip to Italy for Fame Festival, we are catching up on some contemporary Italian artists, and Nicola Samori has come up in a few conversations. What we found was beautiful, dark, and classic oil paintings inspired by Italian Baroque.

Italian studio, Bam!, were winners of the Venice Cityvision competition for their “air pod” designs. In attempt to reconnect residents with their waterways and reintroduce water into the citizen's daily experience, a series of outdoor rooms or “air pods” have been placed within the canal. Dangerous looking?

Street artists, Blu and Ericailcane, have just collaborated on yet another massive wall in Italy. Ericailcan seems to have painted the octopus, while the rest left to the hands of Blu. These two just keep the Italian tour rolling all summer long.

Two of our favorite Italian muralists, Blu and Ericailcane, continue their summer European mural tour with a few day stop at Fame Festival in the south of Italy. In just a few short days, both artists completed some fantastic works.

Italian muralists and often-collaborators, Blu and Ericailcane, teamed up for a wall and watchtower combination in Italy. Blu mentioned on his blog that he was back to Italy after some time travelling, and this was the piece he and Erica finished.

Sometimes an artists energy and productivity is infectious, and right now, Mexico City-based Saner is traveling throughout Europe, making stops along the way, and mixing prints and mural work. Recently, he stopped in Turin, Italy to create a new print and mural with Mission to Art.

Italian muralists and collaborators, Blu and Ericailcane, just finished another great collaborative piece in Erica's hometown of Bologna, Italy. Ericailcane, the cover artist of our subscriber cover in March 2010, adds his signature animals while Blu adds a cage and added elements.

With so many fantastic photographers working in the world today, we did a stutter-step this morning when we saw the work of Italian photographer, Andrea Galvani. We just learned that since 2006 he has been professor of Photographic Language and History of Contemporary Photography at the Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti di Bergamo.
